# 12.3.8 — POS thumbnails & Place order button

- POS item thumbnails no longer have a white plate or border. Transparent png/webp pictures sit straight on the tile and follow the light/dark theme, like inventory cards. The letter placeholder is hidden once a picture loads, so it can't show through transparency.
- Place order / Charge / Save correction button is now fully opaque (no blur or see-through) and stays pinned to the bottom of the cart card while the panel scrolls (desktop and the mobile full-screen cart).
- Cache bumped (pos.css?v=1239, service worker v41).

## Follow-up: white backgrounds baked in by the image pipeline
- POS thumbnails were being redrawn onto a white square and saved as JPEG (pos.js posMakeThumb). They are now drawn with no fill and kept as PNG, so transparency survives.
- Upload compression (common.js compressImageFile): a transparent PNG over 256 KB used to fall back to a JPEG with a white fill. It now re-encodes to WebP (keeps transparency) and only uses JPEG if the browser cannot write WebP.
- Pictures already saved with a white background (e.g. Veg Burger) must be re-uploaded; the white is in the stored file.
- Cache bumped (common.js?v=1233, pos.js?v=1235, service worker v42).
